BEFORE THE FIRST CLASS (1)

IMAGE 1: Your best piece of creative work

"BLENDING IN"

The work above is a drawing which I did in my early years of high school. My intention of this piece was to create a picture which combined many animals into one picture, which required a close observation in order to identify the hidden animals inside this one picture, like a scorpion's tail, a fish, a dragon, a butterfly wing nd so on. What makes it harder is that only sections of different animals were included. This picture was not only inspired by animals but also by the concept of mosaic. I also used repetition of shapes in order to create detail in this piece of work. "Blending in" is a piece of work that I did in order to improve my drawing skills at that time.

IMAGE 2: An image of a great piece of architecture

"GUGGENHEIM MUSEUM BILBAO by Frank Gehry"

This piece of architecture is design by architect Frank Gehry in 1997 and built in Bilbao, Spain. It is a museum which exhibits the artworks of international and Spanish artists. It is a great piece of architecture as it brings together different shapes and sizes, with a natural and unique arrangement. The use of glass, titanium and limestone create a shiny and reflective surface, which allows the general colour of the building to change under different weather conditions. It is a great example of contemporary architecture, due to it's unique shape and the way Frank Gehry has decided to assemble the pieces together.

IMAGE 3: Original photo of something beautiful

"SUNSET, HONG KONG"

This photo was taken from the balcony of my apartment. In my opinion, this picture is beautiful because of the colours and shapes in the sky. The colours give a strong sense of passion and emotion, whereas the shape of the clouds brings an idea of freedom and relaxation to me. I've always been fond of sunsets, but I would rarely see a sunset like this one. This picture constantly reminds me of the years that I spent in Hong Kong.
